Dr Griffiths and Mrs Henderson

We are delighted to welcome two members of staff to the SGGS Sixth Form team this month. As of this week, Dr Griffiths will be taking up the position as Head of Sixth Form and Mrs Henderson will be taking up the position as Deputy Head of Sixth Form.

SGGS extends its thanks to Mrs Bradbury-Grubb, our former Head of Sixth Form, for all that she has done for the school and the students in her care during her time with us.

In today’s blog post, Dr Griffiths and Mrs Henderson share a little bit about themselves and what they hope to bring to our Sixth Form.

Dr Griffiths – Head of Sixth Form

I have been teaching Chemistry at Stratford Girls’ Grammar School for five years and have spent three of those years as Head of Orion House. I feel privileged to be part of this community and I am really excited about starting my new role as Head of Sixth Form.

I enjoy listening to music and attending live concerts. I am a big fan of the 80s and have remained loyal to Duran Duran to this day! I keep myself active and enjoy challenges. I love hiking and, as well as scaling many of the highest peaks in the UK, I have walked from Geneva to Zurich, which was a great experience. The Sixth Form Team are amazing, and I am looking forward to joining them and watching our oldest students flourish.

Mrs Henderson – Deputy Head of Sixth Form

I have been working at Stratford Girls’ Grammar School for 3 and a half years as a Maths teacher. My new role as Deputy Head of Sixth Form will require me to teach slightly fewer lessons a fortnight, though I will still teach most of my classes, which I am pleased about because I love teaching all of them!

I will be working closely with Dr Griffiths and the other members of the Sixth Form team. I am looking forward to developing myself, but more importantly, helping the Stratford Girls’ Grammar School Sixth Form students during their time here.
