Friends of Shottery
We warmly invite all parents to join FoS (Friends of Shottery) when their daughter starts school.
FoS is a parent-run group that provides a variety of events in the course of the school year with the aims of:
- raising funds to provide facilities to enhance the learning experience for all our girls, and
- promoting and supporting the social and community aspects of the school (we aim to put the fun into fundraising!).
The funds we have raised over the years have helped to purchase items like a mini-bus, a sound system for the school hall and a growing collection of netbooks. We have recently pledged our support for the exciting Phase Two development with a donation of £5,000 a year for five years. Look out for the ‘FoS Fitness Suite’ in the new building! This is in addition to maintaining our support for other items requested by the school (see the ‘Wish List’ for details).
On the social side, we organise a range of events – some for the girls, some for the parents and some for the wider school community too. FoS discos are a social highlight for girls in Years 7-9 and the annual summer Year 13 Graduation Garden Party, when we say goodbye to our Year 13 students (and their parents), has become a highlight of our school year. For the wider school community, we organise a range of events which in the past have included Murder Mystery evenings, Cheese and Wine tasting, Pamper evenings, Festive FoS, Barn Dances, special events … hopefully something for everyone!
We would encourage all parents to support us as we raise funds and organise events. Do please check on the icons below to find out more about what we are doing and feel free to contact us on our dedicated email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) should you need more information, have any ideas for other events or just wish to speak to one of the team.
The Stratford Art Fair is organised and hosted by FoS annually. Any funds raised will go towards improving the school facilities and resources.
FoS have also supported The Shakespeare Hospice through a minimum of a 10% donation from funds raised. Money will go towards supporting young people with life limiting illnesses and their families and carers, including transitional and bereavement care - a fantastic and very deserving cause.
