House System

We have four Houses named after stellar constellations - Cygnus, Orion, Phoenix and Ursa. Every girl is a member of a House - and also part of a Tutor Group which includes students from Years 7 to 13 in her House. She will stay with this group throughout her time here.

Heads of House are the main contacts for parents and carers about any aspect of their daughter's welfare, academic or personal. Our students' main contact is their Tutor, who will know them well and see them most days. Contact details of the House Heads are as follows:

Tutor groups

Our vertical tutor group system allow tutors to give individual girls more attention when they need it, rather than trying to support 25 students who are all new to the school, all choosing their GCSE options or all applying to university at the same time.

Our tutors also give all girls, not just the executive student leaders or School Council members, chances to support and mentor younger students, developing their leadership skills and confidence. House events and tutor time topics such as First Aid, career planning and Fair Trade, mean that girls can have fun and learn together.

Friendships across the year groups help to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that helps new girls to settle in and quickly feel at home.
