Be part of something special
"I have loved everything about being here, the friendships I have made and the positive learning environment." Anna, Year 13 leaver.
The email from Anna, received over the weekend, expresses everything we hope you will feel about your time in Shottery Sixth Form. An extension of the main school, and yet with its own unique atmosphere and environment, this really is a special place to learn with like-minded peers and expert teaching.
Our results speak for themselves; 76% of A-level grades this year were A*to B, with 67% of our leavers gaining at least AAB in two or more, Russell Group approved, facilitating subjects. This puts us some 20% clear of any other Warwickshire school, and underlines the importance we place on providing students with outstanding advice and guidance, supported by a curriculum designed to facilitate access to the most prestigious universities.
Whether your ambition is to study Engineering at Cambridge, read Languages at Oxford, Medicine at Manchester, Maths at Durham or Drama at Rose Bruford, we have a 2017 alumna able to advise. Our fantastic alumnae network allows current students to keep in touch with those who have recently left and learn from their experiences whether at university or in the world of work; whilst our peerless sixth form speaker programme encourages students to connect with an extraordinary range of leaders from the worlds of politics, business, the arts and beyond.
We challenge all our students to be the very best they can be. Tess, who received her A-level results last week emailed that, “Shottery pushed me to reach my academic potential and win a place at Oxford University." Livia thanked us for, “helping and guiding me through the process of applying for medicine,” and added that she has,” had a great time at Shottery and [is] extremely happy to be going to university in September!”
Our sixth form is made up of outstanding individuals, and, from our curriculum to our dress code, we celebrate that individuality and look forward to you becoming part of our incredible sixth form.
