SGGS Maths Team Challenge - A Winning Team!

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.

Two Year 8 students and two Year 9 students - Beth, Nina, Kira and Sacha - went along to the Team Maths Challenge at Myton School on Tuesday 20 March.  Feeling up for the challenge, and excited for the what the day ahead held for them, they took part in four rounds:  a Group Round, Cross-Number, Shuttle and Relay.

With a flying start, they scored 60/60 in the Group Round and an impressive 50/56 in the Cross-Number.  The girls agree they found the Shuttle round a little more challenging, but still managed to achieve 51/60.  Under enormous pressure for the final round, the girls managed to demonstrate their skill and talent, scooping First Place in the competition, beating twenty other local schools!  Tudor Grange placed second, and KES third.

It was an impressive effort and we are enormously proud of our students!  They now have to prepare to compete in the national finals in London, and we can't wait to hear all about it!
