Y12 Drama: Hamlet Workshop With RSC Actor James Cooney and RSC Practitioner Sophie Hobson

Year 12 were very lucky to be involved in a workshop that explored the function of iambic pentameter, power struggles within Hamlet and how to work together as an ensemble.

Year 12 Drama and Theatre Studies students said...

'It was interesting when we broke down the soliloquy to see how Shakespeare uses punctuation to convey the chaos of Hamlet's thoughts.'

'I learnt about the use of iambic pentameter in assessing the mood and thoughts of the character and the hints left by Shakespeare.'

James Cooney taught us that 'Drama is a team game and not an individual sport' - something that we need to remember as we move into Year 13 as Theatre Studies students.
