COVID-19 Information

Headteacher's latest update - January 2021

During the current lockdown our school remains open to our vulnerable students and to the children of key workers. Any parent/carer who wishes to make use of this provision is asked to email mainschoolpastoral@sggs.org.uk by 3pm on Friday of the proceeding week stating which days their daughter will be in school. Mass rapid testing continues on site for those attending – both students and staff.  Consent is required therefore parents/carers should request a consent form if they wish to join the testing programme and have not already made a return.

For those coming on site, we have measures in place to make sure that our students, staff and visitors are safe. We ask all those coming on site to be familiar with our COVID measures and to understand that they need to adhere to these while here.

For those studying from home, we continue to provide our students with the broad and balanced curriculum you would expect of SGGS. Lessons are via MS Teams and include live elements each lesson.

Our risk assessment , which our Governors have agreed, is below. The risk assessment is based on the most recent guidance from the DfE (8th January 2021) and remains a working document. Governors and the SLT review the risk assessment regularly and update it in accordance with our lived experience in school and/or updates from the DfE. You will be aware that the reopening of schools is in the news again. Parents/carers and the student body will be updated on the school’s response to any changes in guidance from the DfE.

Regarding transportation, you will be aware that the advice is still to avoid anything but essential travel and public transport if at all possible. If necessary, however, the guidance regarding travelling safely can be found here.

Should you require further information about the reopening of the school, please email Lisa Cooper, Head’s PA, in the first instance (HeadsPA@sggs.org.uk).

Kind regards,

Jacqui Cornell
