BASE Competition at Warwick University

On Friday 20 March, Year 12 teamed up with their KES counterparts to take part in the regional heat of the annual Business and Accounting Skills Education (BASE) business planning competition held by the Institute of Chartered Accountants at the University of Warwick.

In teams of six, the students were assigned a business advisor for the day and were given an extensive strategy development task.  After two hours, the teams then presented their ideas to the judges from the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales), who then asked some challenging questions.  Both of our teams performed with great maturity and poise and were personally commended by the judges.

At the end of the day, our team involving Adele Cooke, Daiya Dhillon and Monica Kilminster were announced as the regional winners, presented with the winning trophy and an invitation to the national finals and awards dinner, to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham.  Well done to all involved!
