Please see this Sway which gives information for pupils about what to expect at school when we return in September.

Reopening from September to all Year Groups

We are planning to provide our students with the broad and balanced curriculum you would expect of SGGS. We have measures in place to make sure that our students are able to access all of their normal subjects and we will be working with staff on their return to restore as many extra-curricular activities, such as clubs and day trips, as possible. It is our intention to stick to core business – teaching and learning in the classroom – for the first two weeks in order to allow everyone to get used to being back at school and working within the new parameters. Following this, we will look to safely introduce other familiar provisions. Please note that Years 7-9 will not be set homework for the first two weeks.

Our risk assessment , which our Governors have agreed, is below. The risk assessment is based on the most recent guidance from the DfE (7th August) and remains a working document. Governors and the SLT review the risk assessment regularly and update it in accordance with our lived experience in school and/or updates from the DfE. You will be aware that the reopening of schools is in the news again. Any changes in guidance from the DfE between now and our opening next week will be in place when our students return to the site. Presently, we are giving students and staff free choice as to whether they wish to wear a face mask when in school.

Information from Warwickshire County Council regarding transportation is also below. You will be aware that the advice is still to avoid public transport if at all possible. If necessary, however, the guidance regarding travelling safely can be found here

Should you require further information about the reopening of the school, please email Lisa Cooper, who has just joined the school as Head’s PA, in the first instance (

Kind regards,

Jacqui Cornell
