A Review of the End of Term Festivities

In our latest blog, we share some of the fantastic Christmas themed activities that have been happening in school over the past few weeks and give some insight into the activities that made up the 2020 SGGS Winter House Festival.
Thursday 17th December proved a significant day at Stratford Girl’s Grammar School, not only as the last day of term, but as the hard work of students and staff was reflected through a wonderful Winter House Festival celebration.
The annual event, run by the SGGS House Captains, began with all tutor groups watching the final chapter of a ‘Murder Mystery’ event, with the big reveal set for the end of the school day. Year groups then took it in turns to enjoy a multitude of fun activities including Story Book sessions, participation in Christmas Bingo and the extremely popular ‘Snowball’ – a fast, fun dodgeball style event run by PE! With appetites suitably worked up, festive food was the order of the day on the SGGS canteen menu, with gingerbread men, smarties cookies and Christmas cracknell enjoyed by all.
After lunch, teacher videos were shared with each Year group, followed by an engaging festive-themed Quiz. The day concluded with a dance performance on the centre lawn as SGGS students signed off on a unique school term in style.
