Thinking of Joining us in Sept 2021?
Our Virtual Sixth Form Open Evening: Wednesday 18 November 2020
Our virtual event on Wednesday 18 November from 6pm provides a great opportunity for you to gain an insight into life as a sixth former here at SGGS. We have a brief 'A Day In The Life Of a Sixth Former' film, along with information directly from students about their chosen A-level subjects. You will also virtually meet our Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Bradbury-Grubb, and much more. Come along and find out why ambitious girls choose SGGS Sixth Form to ensure that they reach their destinations of choice, year after year.
To visit our virtual event, simply check back on our website from 6pm on Wednesday 18 November 2020.
We encourage you to apply if you are ambitious, have a love for learning and want to be a part of something special. We look forward to receiving your application. We love to give the right people the opportunity to succeed with us - ambition is at the heart of success.

Almost half our sixth form students join us in Year 12. Students may be admitted into the sixth form irrespective of where they live, but they must be able to attend school from 8.50am – 4.00pm each day, and be prepared to play a full part in the life of the school.
Please remember that entry to our Year 12 is on the basis of academic ability demonstrated by achievement at GCSE. Confirmed places in Year 12 can therefore only be allocated following GCSE Results Day in August. To obtain a place in Year 12 students require a minimum of 54 points from their best eight GCSE results using the new GCSE points system of Grades 9-1. (For GCSEs receiving grades from the previous grading system the following conversions will apply: A*=8, A=7, B=6, C=5, etc). Maths and English Language GCSE are required at Grade 6 or above. To be able to take a particular post-16 subject we would prefer students to achieve at least 7 (or A and above) grade at GCSE in that subject (or a specified equivalent subject). The School’s Admissions Committee will make the final decision on admissions to Year 12 on GCSE Results Day.
For more details on our admissions processes, please see our Admissions Policy.
We are committed to supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds within our admissions criteria. To obtain a place in Year 12 disadvantaged students require a minimum of 51 points from their best eight GCSE results using the new GCSE points system of Grades 9-1 as shown above.
