SGGS Students Score 100% Distinctions in LAMDA Level 2 Award

Twenty nine Year 8 SGGS students have achieved the very highest award in their recent Level 2 Award LAMDA examinations. All students received a Distinction. The visiting LAMDA examiner who assessed the girls' individual persuasive speeches in July commented on the girls' thorough preparation, confidence and flair when delivering their individual speeches.

Throughout the two year course students prepared a group discussion as well as an individual extended persuasive speech. They also compiled a 'coursework' folder tracking their progress and understanding of the process of public and discursive speech strategies. A good number of the folders received 100% with girls providing some outstanding examples of their understanding of what makes effective rhetoric.

Congratulations to each of the girls and special thanks to English teacher Mrs Rachel Hardiman for her outstanding contribution to the girls' success.
