Our Library

The SGGS Library is a calm, comfortable and welcoming place, where we aim to inspire a love of reading for all.  We are well resourced with a wide variety of fiction, poetry, non-fiction and study guides as well as a set of computers and laptops. It is the perfect place to come to read, relax or study.

The Library is well used before school, after school and at break and lunch for browsing, borrowing, book clubs and learning and during lesson time, it is used for Sixth Form quiet study and sometimes as a class resource.  Our two librarians are always on hand to help with any request, big or small and we also run a number of clubs and groups to support the students’ passion for reading such as the Warwickshire Book Award and Carnegie Shadowing.  Our Sixth Form student librarians play a crucial role in making our Library such a friendly and valuable space.  In addition to this, we like to celebrate special days and events with author talks, quizzes, competitions and crafts and often have a communal jigsaw on the go.

We are always introducing new books, genres and writers to the students and truly believe that our Library is the heart of the school and a place for everyone to enjoy.

Make the most of our fabulous library from home; all of our resources can be browsed and reserved on ReadingCloud.  Here you’ll be able to review books, see what other students are reading and catch up on all of the latest Library news and recommendations.

Our opening times are 8.30am – 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.
